Many clients do not know what to expect when they contact a web design company for the first time. Our first meeting with you is free of charge. It allows us to become familiar with your business, your thoughts about the site, and gives us time to discuss programming options you may want to incorporate if you decide to proceed.
Following that meeting, we will prepare a proposal outlining the expected costs to develop the site. Upon approval of the proposal, we will schedule a meeting with you to determine the scope (size and time frame) of your new website. During this meeting we will discuss what you need your website to do, what your objectives are, who your audience is, and when you would like the site to launch.
Following this meeting, we will prepare a detailed “website plan”which includes a web map and notes on any special programming. We will also provide a production schedule for the project. Once this is agreed upon we will begin work on the graphics (the look and feel of the site) and navigation (which pages link to where).
Act One Creative will offer two choices for the initial design. (The cost quoted allows for two rounds of minor revisions. If more revisions are requested after that, we will bill at our normal hourly rate.) Once the specifications and graphics are approved, we will begin developing the actual site, which includes the buttons, pages, programming code, database (if required), and more. We will maintain ongoing contact with you throughout the site’s development, gaining your approval all along the way.
During the time your website is being built, we will also provide you with a cloaked web address where you can track its progress.
As we proceed, we get your approval at each step until your website is ready to launch. Upon project completion, we assist you as needed to get your website onto the internet and, if requested, train your staff to use the CMS (content management system) tools. We then ask for your final sign-off and final payment. But the support doesn’t stop there. We provide reasonable telephone support and bug fixes for two months after launch.
We also offer — for an additional fee — website maintenance, monthly and/or quarterly SEO (search engine optimization), annual reviews and design upgrades.
